The Initiative for Spanish and Mediterranean Studies hosted a book presentation and panel discussion on "Juan Ponce de León, The Adelantado, Discoverer of Florida" with Juan Gil, member of Royal Spanish Academy; Ernesto Montes, Circulo Cientifico, S.L.; Noble David Cook, Department of History, FIU; Sherry Johnson, Department of History, FIU; and Aurora Morcillo, Director of the Initiative.
